Tasting Notes
Body
Appearance
Medium ruby in color, lightening at the rim with moderate tears forming in the glass.
Aroma
Vibrant and perfumed on the nose with strawberry, cranberry, and rhubarb leading earthy notes of rose, tea leaf, and oak.
Palate
Dry and medium-bodied, with ripe cherry and raspberry fruit on entry, followed by star anise and persistent, concentrated red fruit on the mid-palate. The long finish features grounding notes of fall leaves, cardamom, sassafras, and toasty barrel spice. The fine tannins provide structure and balance for the wine's full fruit, savory earth elements, and bright acidity. The 2023 JUSTIN Russian River Valley Pinot Noir is a wine for all occasions and pairs with a wide variety of dishes. Nutty, dense cheeses such as Comté and Gruyère reflect the earthniess of the wine and highlight its red fruit character, while the wine's body and acidity will complement duck confit with a cherry reduction or seared filet of salmon with a balsamic glaze.
