About the Wine

With this limited bottling, we show the versatility of this venerable and classic Paso Robles grape variety. Zinfandel often shows different ripeness levels within a single cluster of grapes, and the result is a unique mix of a full-bodied red wine with rich, ripe brambly berry fruit balanced by palate-cleansing freshness. The 2022 JUSTIN Zinfandel shows the fruit, savory spice, and texture that fans of this grape variety crave, combined with the complexity and balance that are JUSTIN hallmarks.

Tasting Notes

Body

LightMediumFull

Appearance

Clear, deep ruby in color with hints of purple, going towards magenta at the rim. Light staining on the glass with quick-forming tears of medium thickness.

Aroma

Moderately aromatic baked raspberry and blackberry mingle in the glass with notes of brambly wood, espresso, apricot jam, and hoisin sauce for an intriguing bouquet.

Palate

Moderate to full-bodied, dry, and smooth on entry with a fresh burst of acidity. This wine leads with bright black cherry and ripe berry fruit, transitioning to more cinnamon and cardamom spice toward the finish. Vanilla and subtle caramel notes from the oak wrap the delicate tannin structure, and the finish lingers with tea leaves and clove spice.
